VIDEO – Why I Reccomend Learning Solutions? – Jennifer DeVries

I am not shy about telling people that, for me, the best conference for an eLearning professional to attend is the eLearning Guild’s conference called Learning Solutions. It is hosted every year, in Orlando, Florida. It occurs in mid-March.

WHY DO I LIKE THE LEARNING SOLUTIONS CONFERENCE?

This conference offers a  couple of things I find very valuable:

  • The expo is the most beneficial expo I attend. Not because of the vendors, but because of the learning stages they offer. They usually have three – Management, Technology, and Tools. You can go to the expo and just do this for two days and it is worth your time. Various vendors and industry professionals share information with the attendees at these stages and you can learn quite a lot from them.
  • They have an event called DemoFest that occurs one evening, after the conference. They fill a ball room with somewhere around 40 different tables that have eLearning professionals showcasing their projects. This is a great way to see what others are doing in the field.
  • Networking at this conference seems to be fairly easy. I always seem to strike up conversations easily here.
  • There is a more recent addition – game night. I am a board gamer, and love being able to be around people that are colleagues AND like to play strategy games. This is a huge bonus for me!

DON’T JUST TAKE IT FROM ME…

One of my friends that I have had for several years now is Jennifer DeVries of Bluestreak eLearning. She also works for the eLearning Guild as an author, conference employee, and as an instructor. While at the conference, she offered to speak with me for a few minutes about what she thinks is special about the Learning Solutions conference.

IF YOU REGISTER FOR JUST THE EXPO…

Look for EXPO + registration. You will be glad you did! This is a free pass to the expo and the Learning Stages.
